The narrow streams with crystal clear waters, whose gurgling sound soothes and energises the weary travelers soul .The narrow winding paths of the mountains lead us to the peak, filling our hearts with a feeling of ecstasy, the eyes trying to soak in the mesmerizing beauty of the gigantic Himalayan range. A truly exhilarating experience to be experienced at least once in a lifetime!!

Shop’O’mania
Come July/August, most women regale in the saga of shopping!! It is a bonanza for shoppers, as it heralds the season of sale across all brands and stores in India.
Shoppers flock to the shops to get good bargains on stuff ranging from apparels, accessories, furnishings, home decor items and the like. On a weekend during this time, any mall you step into is teeming with shoppers.
Last weekend I too happened to be one among the throng of shoppers. I had to buy a dress for my daughter whose birthday is fast approaching. An unhurried shopper, she has a mind of her own and is a picky chooser trying out many dresses before giving the final nod of approval.
While my little girl was trying various outfits, I had an interesting time observing the sea of shoppers at the store. The shoppers were predominantly women across all age groups…..
Most had come along with friends, some had descended with family……. perhaps a day of outing with lunch and movie to complete the “family’s day out”! Some lone shoppers who enjoyed their own company, many with husbands/boyfriends, some moms with little kids in tow. It was interesting to watch them…..the ladies thrilled with their picks, admiring themselves in the mirror, the bored and patient husbands putting up a valiant smile and nodding every time she tried a new dress, giving her a thumbs up that she looked stunning! 😉 Some engrossed in a heated debate about the final choice to be made from their assorted stockpile, young girls taking selfies to update their shopping status, a tiny tot throwing a tantrum and mama dear pleading him for just 5 more minutes and bribing him with his favourite ice cream!!
I was shaken out of my observational trance, when my daughter said she had finally found a dress to her liking. Well, I had an amusing time watching my fellow shoppers.
Folks, would love to hear any interesting anecdotes or tidbits from your shopping sojourns !!

Soul Mate
Unconditional and absolute is your fountain of love
With sprinkles of care, warmth and respect
I feel so ecstatic to drown in its perennial flow.
When the skies dress up, to a dull gloomy grey
Your dazzling smile brightens my day
With a splash of rainbow hues.
The magic of your love paints
My heart, a scarlet red
The fragrant colour of which lingers all day long.
Treading the milestones in this journey of life
Metamorphoses into an enchanting one
With you as my soul mate.

Black Cat Blue Sea Award
A very Good Morning to you all !!
I was nominated for this award by Rekha of https://rrkamath.wordpress.com. Thanks dear for the nomination. Visit her site for some amazing reads.
Rules, Rules and Rules! Aren’t rules annoying at times? Well, since I am a law abiding blogger, I have to stick to the rules . So here they go:
- Anybody nominated can nominate up to seven other bloggers.
- Anybody nominated answers three questions. The questions you ask while nominating can be any three questions. If any of the questions asked are offending or simply do not want to be answered, the nominee does not have to answer them to earn the award.
Here are the questions that R popped to me:
1. What is it that makes you unique and different from others? (It can be your hobby or any other interests.)
We all have read often that we are all unique, each different from the millions of people who inhabit this planet. Isn’t that something we all need to be proud of?
Sincerity with which I approach a task, trying to do it to the best of my ability, a penchant for being on time all the time 😉 ( much to the chagrin of my family), always willing to learn (even from my kids ), enjoying little joys of life, is what makes me unique.
2. If you could stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
Age, they say is just a number .Each age has got its own charm and responsibility. When we are kids we are in a hurry to grow up. Once we grow up we long to be kids again. So irrespective of our age, enjoy every moment of it. So no matter what your age is, it will always remain evergreen.
3. What was your first thought when you woke up this morning?
Every morning the alarm nudges me out of deep slumber and jolts me out of my dreamy world into reality. The first thought on waking up is to recall the day. If it is a weekday, I recollect the schedules lined up for the day. But a weekend or a holiday has its own lazy charm……. doesn’t it? I press the snooze button and enjoy those extra few minutes of sleep. So today being a Sunday it was snooze time 😉
I enjoyed answering your questions R.
My nominees are:
And here are my questions:
- If your entire life was made into a movie, what would its genre and title be? Why?
- When was the last time you did something for the first time?
- If somebody gifted you enough money to last a lifetime, how would you spend your time? (Now that you no longer need to work) 😉
Thank you all for your feedback and encouragement. Keeps me motivated to come up with more.:-)

3 Day Quote Challenge
This is my second 3 day quote challenge. I was nominated by Shefali and Mona for this challenge. Thank you ladies for the nomination. Do visit their amazing blogs.
The rules go like this:
- Thank the person who nominated you
- 3 quotes in a day, or all 3 quotes on same day
- 3 nominees each day, not repetitive and Inform the nominees
I am doing all the 3 quotes on one day.
All the quotes I have chosen today focus on the power of a genuine and warm Smile 🙂
A stress buster and a powerful tool to help us tide through many challenges in life, a smile is a curve that sets everything right. Extremely contagious and infectious it just wipes away the frown from people’s faces. We are always incomplete without our smile.
Recently I watched a reality singing show on TV. One of the participants from a very humble background was always sad and never ever smiled. The biggest challenge was to get him to smile at least once. As the show progressed, with the encouragement of many, he gradually opened up to the sincere warmth of the people. Getting infected with the smile bug, changed his personality. That happiness reflected in his singing too. He progressed leaps and bounds from a sad and serious faced singer to one brimming with confidence. He was the runner up in the finale.
Smile and the world will smile with you. 🙂
So Be Happy and Keep Smiling 🙂 🙂

Number Game Club
Recently I read in the papers that the Salman Khan starrer movie “Sultan” grossed 100 crores within 3 days of its release and so far its box office collection has crossed a staggering 230 crores!!
Why are people so obsessed with the number game???
Welcome to the “Number game club”
Rules of the game:
No. of players : No limit
Age : Age no bar
Winner : The player who scores/earns the highest *
Replace * with any of the choices given below as required.
*marks, box office collections, salary, targets, likes on FB, followers on your blog, votes
The list is endless……
Why is success always measured in terms of numbers? Chasing numbers many times forces us to compromise on quality and values. Running the race like a horse with blinkers, we solely focus on surging ahead. Reaching that magical number brands us successful. We are least perturbed when we turn a blind eye to a sea of small little things on the way.
Is only the marks on a paper indicative of your intelligence?
Is only a mind boggling collection at the box office the criteria to declare a movie a hit?
Does a high number of likes on your FB post make you the most popular person?
Does only meeting targets at work brand you a star employee?
I believe “Numbers alone should not define your success”.
Now the question arises,
a) If not by numbers, how does one measure success?
or
b) Should we get out of the habit of measuring success?
What do you think???

Just anchored my ship at
the port of blog
A beautiful place
I must say.
Sauntering around
I come across
many who have
docked here for long
Enjoying the expanse of freedom
to create a symphony of words
and share with the world
their triumphs and failures
thoughts and reflections.
Be it a seamless tapestry of poetry
or an intense conversation,
be it a friendly banter,
or a gripping story
be it colourful strokes from the painters palette
or bringing alive a picture through their lens,
Some tickling the laughter buds
while others making a point
Exploring and discovering
learning and growing
In this fascinating journey of pen and paper
having a sublime union of thoughts and words
culminating into beautiful writings from the heart.
I would like to dwell in
this paradise which
reflects diverse ideas and perspectives
of people from all over
