These are a few of my favourite things

Recently I happened to listen to the evergreen song “Raindrops on roses” from the film “The Sound of Music”. What a beautiful movie that was, all its songs so melodious, that they remain etched in our memories even today.

Listening to the song, I imagined what would my version of this song be? So here it goes, set to the same tune.

 

Giggles n laughters, and cupcakes and ice creams

warm cosy blankets with sweet dreams at night time

lost in a world full of books and  my blogs

These are a few of my favourite things!

 

Music n melody to lift up my spirits

Long drives on holidays, I love forever

A hot cup of coffee to pep me up bright,

These are a few of my favourite things!

 

Walk through the woods and bright yellow sunshine

chirping of birds that herald a new dawn

flowers that sway in the gentle cool breeze,

These are a few of my favourite things!

 

When I feel low, when my dreams sour

When I am feeling sad,

I simply remember my favourite things

and then I don’t feel so bad!!

 

We all have our list of favourite things ………what’s yours?

  4. Though I haven’t heard the original song, but your version seems bright. 😉
    In the bucket of my favorite things lies number of varieties, depending on my mood. There are days when a strong movie works wonders, but then there are days when only a long slumber can be my escapist. Some days a beautiful new song cheers me up, but some days ask for, again long slumbers. :p
    In short, when everything else fails, I am left with an option of shutting my eyes. 😀

  7. Radhika, how Beautiful is your Song. The movie Sound of Music was always my Favorite films. The Songs can never be forgotten.
    And this Song “These are a Few of my Favorite Things” , the way you have sag it using your Favorite Things is SIMPLY AWESOME, GIRL !!.

    Listening to music which heals the heart and mind.

    Gives us joy and happiness.

    When hungry we eat whatever is in front of us.

    It’s the hunger that makes any food tasty.

    I like to gaze at the rising Sun.

    Which reminds me the things I have to do and achieve in my life.

    I like to gaze at the colourful flowers in the early morning

    Soothing to the eyes.

    I like to inhale the fragrance of flowers in the early morning which makes my mind fresh.

    I love to eat a dark chocolate.

    I love to be alone in nature and enjoy its beauty and music.

    The sight of a colourful and melodious singing bird on a tree makes me happy

    The happiness when you suddenly meet your old friend after a long span of time cannot be described in words.

Romedies, worn out postcards/letters , sepia tones, random scribbles, textured paper , music , the aroma of home cooked food , fresh bakes , potted plants , bubbles , candles , art , flowers,butterflies , nature, happy hairbands (they exist), dancing, paper boats , swings, beaches, travel, colorful socks, babies, old couples walking hand in hand , diving into a sea of cushions make me smile…..
