Routine!

Many of us feel routine to be so boring. We crib and complain that life is so mundane devoid of anything exciting. We just carry on with it, promising ourselves to plan something different and challenging soon.

But, one phone call or incident is all it takes to turn our routine upside down. Diagnosis of a medical condition, untimely death of a family member, an accident or any untoward incident can upset our life beyond control. God forbid an eventuality like this happen to anyone, Β it is only then, that we appreciate the value and goodness of life going on smoothly, as in a routine.

Be thankful for routines too. It only indicates that ALL IS WELL!

Very true, Radhika!! We realised it during the Chennai floods, for the first time… Wished things came back to our normal routine somehow or the other… The daily routine though boring instills in us a sense of security and well being without even us realising it… It’s only when the routine is disturbed that we awaken to this fact.

So true Radhika. We often tend to take life for granted, when things go on normally. Thanks for the reminder to be grateful for small things in life. Well written.πŸ‘

Very true Shahz. But then they all make us happy. It’s all fun and excitement. My point was with people who always complain about mundane everyday life. Sometimes we need to appreciate the routine as well.

Yes, many a times we take routines for granted. I guess routine indicates all things in place and be thankful for it. Thank you so much Priya!

Absolutely, Radhika! Routines, albeit a little mundane, brings about discipline to life. My father inculcated that in me as a child and I cannot be thankful enough for that.

No one can agree more on this than me Radhika. I was thinking from last few days how I’m stuck in my busy routine life and need a break. And then got news of untimely death of my cousin, nine years younger than me on Saturday night.
After coming from attending his funeral I was thinking we should be thankful to him for the gift of these breaths instead of complaining him in any way.
Your post is an eye opener and leads to introspect.

I am a huge routine-lover. Without routine, life seems like the cup of tea without sugar, completely tasteless.
Even for a routine-free day, I have to set a routine that this-and-that day would be my routine-free days. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€
