Theme – ** Kaleidoscope of thoughts**
Prayer is a sacred word, a pure form of communication between oneself and Almighty. Call Him by any name, seek Him anywhere, He will always heed to our calls. He is the benign light, power and energy who is omnipresent.
Overflowing with goodness, love and compassion He always fulfils our desires.

How does one pray? Well, Prayer is very personal. I don’t think there is any right or wrong way to pray. Each person has his own way to connect with the divine. Some find it through soulful music, while some connect with Him through chants. For few it takes a form of soulful conversations with him. Meditating on the divine is yet another path pursued. Some follow religious rituals very diligently, while others believe in reaching Him by following the adage, “Service to humanity is service to God”. No matter how you pray He is always eager to listen to you and bless you!
I do believe chanting the hymns, verses or reading the holy book of which ever religion you follow, helps you in your spiritual growth and evolution, so does a good thought, a kind deed, lending a helping hand, all take you closer to Him.
Irrespective of the path you follow, all of them ultimately lead to Him!
What is prayer to you?
Well said, absolutely there’s no right or wrong for prayer. To me prayer is silent.

In silence and introspection, we unravel great understanding of the self and the divine. Excellent!

I don’t pray or chant hymns or go to temple. I believe in being good and doing good. I believe in helping the needy. It makes me happy to see that I put a smile on someone’s face. 🙂 Having said this, I am spiritual. I think certain situations I faced in life made me grow more spiritual. 🙂

Absolutely perfect R! Our paths may be different, but the final destination is the same. Putting a smile on someone’s face is indeed a noble quality. So keep spreading the smiles dear. Great to hear from you 😊😊

Yes, R. 🙂 It’s been my dream to adopt an orphan. It feels so good to give someone a new and happy life.May be I can’t do that right now, but I do donate to orphanages quite often.
Like you said, There are different paths to reach a destination and I believe mine is to help others 🙂

I’m not a religious person, so prayer isn’t a part of my life. I would consider myself spiritual though, but this is something I feel through the beauty of nature or through the inner peace of yoga. I do advocate a life of giving and helping, being generous and supporting or comforting to others in need 😊

Ultimately what gives us inner peace is what we should hold on to. Yoga, helping others, respecting his creation in nature and nurturing them are things which makes you happy then I think they are just perfect prayers too!

I really like that perspective, Radhika. That the notion of prayer extends beyond the religious is a wonderfully inclusive and accepting attitude.

I don’t pray. I try to treat everyone as equal and treat them how I would like to be treated. You will immediately have my respect until you show me you do not deserve it. I wouldn’t say I’m particularly spiritual either. I’m just … me

That’s absolutely fine Geraint. Being a good human being is supreme. Treating fellow beings with dignity and respect reflects a lot on your personality. No point in ardently praying and going about duping or cheating people.

Great post. I find that prayers can lessen the burdens in my mind. Although I do chant hymns and go to temples, sometimes all I do is have a simple conversation with God. It’s a great feeling to know that there’s someone looking out for you, waiting to help you if you reach out to them. You’re right – it’s doing what gives us inner peace. 🙂

I believe in the same Shweta. I too chant few sholkas and go to temple sometimes. I have a strong belief that there is a supreme power taking care of us and everything happens for a reason.

I know. Me too. I go to temples sometimes but I don’t believe that’s the only place where we can offer our prayers. I don’t believe that there’s a particular place and time for praying. But that being said, going to temples do make me feel very calm, and relaxed. I’m in total agreement with you – everything happens for a reason and there’s someone looking out for us. 😊

For me just remembring him every minute of a day is a prayer. When I do that it helps me think clearly, stops me from doing any wrong and gives me strength when I need most. Every breath in and out is a prayer for me.
