Roasted on a perfect flame
with a passion so intense
the grind so flawless as
it surrenders completely
to emerge into a fine new form
sizzling in the hot water
for a perfect concoction
its aroma delights the senses
black, strong or creamy
a hot favourite with all
the wait now seems irresistible
the desire reaching dizzying heights
its steaming hot and smoky looks
is a feast for the eyes
the tongue savours heavenly bliss
as the bittersweet taste lingers on
in the mouth, yearning for more
Oh! I love my cup of
perfectly brewed coffee!
Wonderful post Radhika and I am honored to have this posted on my blog…:)…Will love to collaborate more in the future…:)

Wow….these lines brought back the familiar aroma and bitter sweet taste. Now I am craving for a cup of coffee. (I have quit coffee since a year, so all I can do is crave!)

Infact it is quite addictive. I love coffee but drink it occasionally. It’s a beverage which can work magic on your senses!

True! I was quite addicted to coffee and that’s why I quit the habit.

Same here. But I relish my occasional cup of coffee. It is so invigorating!

It’s good that you do it in moderation. For me, it used to be 5-6 cups of coffee a day.

I have never tasted coffee in my life, now I realize that I missed to take something invigorating all these years !

Oh!! Was it a conscious decision to stay away from coffee ?

It was my mother’s decision to keep us away from tea & coffee !

Oh ok! But later did you not feel like tasting either of them. My Mom too never allowed us to have them as kids. College was when I started having tea and coffee!

Beautiful! Only a true connoisseur can write it. Coffee is an art in itself and somehow the best partner for the best moments in life. Please read this post as to how coffee sometimes swirls magic in some meetings: https://columntribe.wordpress.com/2017/10/23/a-break-from-everyday/

This is a really good poem, I love how descriptive it is for something as simple as coffee, it makes you feel like their roasting coffee beans right in front off you.
