In a world dominated by voices
blaring loud to judge you
I seek refuge within me
as my voice gets muffled
the anguish cries out in angst
falling deaf to the callous ears
crowds stifle my emotion
suffocating me with their hypocrisy
indifferent attitudes render me perplexed
the constant tirades consume me
incessant sermons gag my voice
silence becomes an eternal ally
all alone I am marooned
with my thoughts and words!
This is deep…

Superb! To be marooned in the world of silence is the sign of a good poet who chooses to visit that blissful world whenever possible. 🙂 Stay blessed Radhika.

I fell in love with this, because It has always been me where I seek refuge in.
I have always been alone with my own thoughts, feelings and words 🙂
Thank you Radhika for sharing this here 🙂

I also went through this phase Moushmi. Even now, at times I take solace in my thoughts. It is tough at times. Thanks Moushmi for connecting with this one. 🙂

A profound and poignant piece, Radhika. It takes effort and a lot of strength to drown down those voices and to take refuge in your silence. The peace and contentment that ensues is one that simply cannot be described.

So beautifully composed! It indeed takes time with yourself consistently to separate yourself from the noise and listen to your own voice clearly.
