Silent Voices!

In a world dominated by voices

blaring loud to judge you

I seek refuge within me

as my voice gets muffled

the anguish cries out in angst

falling deaf to the callous ears

crowds stifle my emotion

suffocating me with their hypocrisy

indifferent attitudes render me perplexed

the constant tirades consume me

incessant sermons gag my voice

silence becomes an eternal ally

all alone I am marooned

with my thoughts and words!

  1. Superb! To be marooned in the world of silence is the sign of a good poet who chooses to visit that blissful world whenever possible. 🙂 Stay blessed Radhika.

  2. A profound and poignant piece, Radhika. It takes effort and a lot of strength to drown down those voices and to take refuge in your silence. The peace and contentment that ensues is one that simply cannot be described.
