Her father wanted her to take over their family business, but every cell of Sara’s body breathed dance.

Her father gave her one chance to prove herself in her chosen field of passion.

Today, she waited back stage with bated breath along with her team, as the results of the International Dance Competitions were to be announced, would it be dance or business?

Corona and its impact grips the world

media spews fear in the minds of people

blowing things out of proportion.

Amidst all the negative pandemonium

they fail to highlight the rays of hope

emanating from kind souls

who reach out a helping hand,

infuse positive endurance.

I have realised, to see the world

through the people that surround me,

not through the blare of the breaking news.

Haibun – Seasonal Epiphany!

Myriad hues, textures and beauty dress the landscape. Be it the floral scents of spring , the white canvas of the wintry snow, the sultry heat of summers, the  heavenly drizzles of the rains, or the bare look of the autumn, the sublime transition of the seasons scripts its own story.  The daily melting of dawn into dusk of the revolving orb, spins magic on nature. Its cinematography ushers in a sense of serendipity. Effervescent dreams, drenching nostalgia, starry extravaganza, fiery passion, alluring desires, bewitching blossoms, frozen delights, somber melancholy, sensory fragrances, tranquil divinity, all find a place in the changing array of seasons. They weave a beautiful kaleidoscope of emotions, promise and hope.

Birth of Dawn!

comfreak@pixabay.coom

The nascent amber rays trickle in

with a gentle caress, a loving cajole

it folds in, the obscurity of the night

 under its sublime embrace.

Smiling and aroused,

the moon passes the baton to the rising star

her radiance merges with his dazzle

seamless and graceful, a union so perfect

they birth a new day.

As the colors of dawn fills in

eyes behold the magnificence of nature

as the mystical drama unfolds

on the eastern horizon

when night meets day.
