Luna’s Glow!

The ebony sky paints a dark story

desolate heart gazes at the duvet of inky velvet

blowing tendrils of smoky melancholy.

Lo behold, a speckled orb, bathed in luminance

emerges behind the onyx clouds

devours the monstrous darkness.

Its bewitching glow spells pearly magic

pervades the expansive nihility

infusing the soul with esoteric effulgence.

  1. Beautiful poem Radhika, and a beautiful picture to complement! The moon’s glow and the wonders of does to the mind needs to be felt, and I think are captured so well by your poem.
I somehow think a moon’s true beauty comes out when in crests a hill on a dark night. I have seen beautiful moon so many times under different circumstances, and moonlit ocean nights are very beautiful too (I love to gaze at the moon), but never was it more beautiful to me than two nights, one in Annamalai forest in Tamil Nadu and the other in Fort William in Scotland – and on both ways the night was dark and the moon had just crested a hill. It looks so mysterious then 🙂

    1. Thank you Deb for the compliment and sharing your ethereal experience of the enchanting moon gazing. The vivid description you give of the two nights just goes on to show how much you enjoyed those sights against the dark sky.

  2. Words such as these convey a million sentiments. They are more impactful than the long pages of text we hurriedly skip through. Amazing composition.
