Reena’s Exploration Challenge #165

Look closely at the pictures above. Choose one or more, and think what are they doing together. Will they remain entwined or go their own way? Was their act or intent good or evil? Could they do whatever they planned to do together, or fell apart?
I have chosen the 3rd picture – The human hand and that of a robot for this challenge.
Man, the most intelligent species,
created artificial intelligence,
stepping into innovative technological frontiers,
taking automation to dizzying heights.
Breathing in greyscale monotony,
he put life into chromed metal bodies.
With a system of inputs, circuits and codes
programmed to perfection,
Robots, obeying his every command
be it compute, abort, destroy…
performing each task with finesse.
With its heart full of wires, bereft of feelings,
the vitals of emotional connect seems missing.
In today’s environment,
Is man becoming his own creation?
The last line R is just wow!❤❤

Is man becoming his own creation – this is a loaded statement, power-packed and yes, I do believe we are inching towards this…Sadly, a journey of no return 😏

Yes Radhika I totally agree with you. They are all great. Both in-laws came home from hospital hale and hearty and she and her husband and her son too are fine now. All is well. Hope you and your family are doing good. Take care and stay safe dear.

Wonderful and I also think of all those science fiction books I had read long back. They had been about machines ruling the world!!

Yes, Lakshmi. The future is going to be dominated by machines. But in that process, will man also become like a machine or robot, is a thought that often troubles me.

I love these lines
“With its heart full of wires, bereft of feelings,

In today’s environment,
Is man becoming his own creation?”
This is the image which appealed to me most too.

Happy that you liked these lines Reena. Thanks so much.
That pic really spoke to me. I felt as if man is handing over his life to automation and losing control over his emotional connect in the process.

Beautifully explained Radhika when today we are speaking about robotics and AI changing the world and the right questions asked on the human and emotional touch. Will the robot question things, remain?

What a thoughtful poem and question. There could be a fear that we are becoming what we always were. But the optimistic part is that we are never chained to being any certain way. Always can change direction through our will and self-motivation. The danger will always be making things that are smarter than us. We might run into a technological plague, and perhaps that has already started in many ways, shaping our minds for better or worse.

Beautifully written and worth pondering. Through robotics and artificial intelligence, will they surpass us? Time will tell. … If so, who will take care of them? Will they be able to take care of themselves? Then what. … you have quite the following here! 🙂

The speed at which man is automating life, is scary at times. Time will indeed tell us if this investment in artificial intelligence will reap dividends or not. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. Have a good day!!
