Life took its first breath eons ago
traversing on its path of evolution since.
A multitude of changes ensued,
with time, the only constant.
This journey witnessed a change in man’s perception of time,
from sceptical approximations to a profound science.
With concrete theories postulated about its origin
measurement of time evolved too.
A day seemed to have a lot more time then,
relaxed carefree moments, now only a memory.
Days and years, a lose connotation of time in history,
is now dissected to milli, micro and nano seconds,
precision being paramount.
Today time’s shadow, has eclipsed man’s life.
His journey from the cradle to grave
is a constant run against the clock
that oscillates between the hanging dagger of time.
I wonder if the speed of time changes as one moves from childhood to sunset years.

Well, I feel time moves the fastest during the middle life as one is constantly grappling to meet deadlines across many aspects of life. For a few this probably moves on to their sunset years as well.

LIe can be strange. I know all days have only 24 hours, but as one grows older, life does seem to speed up.
Have a great weekend.

Hmm…I thought it was the other way round Drew. During the autumn of one’s life, one has lot of time with no running behind schedules and targets.
You too enjoy your weekend!!

Oh, I will let you know when I reach that point in my life. lol
Hopefully, one is more organized in the autumn of their life so time management should be better.

True and true words of changing face of time. Where our world had started in its nascent stage and today where our world has progressed. It is so fast that we have stopped resting and are running in the rat race. Lovely poem, Radhika.

Absolutely Kamal. We have forgotten to respect time. We are getting ourselves into a crazy mire.

At times, I feel we’re just puppets of time. The same day that occupied every wish of ours now barely has space to accommodate a long-waiting simple task. It does fly fast as we grow.

Absolutely agree with you Anisha. We want to put so much into our lives. So we are always in a race against it.

Indeed we think we have ‘studied’ time and so can master it and yet keep running against it – another absolutely beautiful poem by you, each line and perspective composed so beautifully.
