The feral mind refuses to be tamed
it forays into the past
latches on to the unpleasant memories
digs out hurt and scars afresh.
Then it dashes to the future, unabashed
dwells on worries unknown
embraces an incredulous streak.
As it oscillates between the past and the future
drowning in the torrent of thought’s flow,
I navigate, to harness it in the path
of living in the present.
The task has been daunting
but the efforts worth it,
transcending my life beyond imagination
to the boundless blessings of ” Now”!
Beautiful and meaningful 😊❤

Its hard to bring the mind to the present with the past and future constant knocking. Wonderfully expressed. Enjoyed the word play.

Live in present, leave the past and the future is full of???? But we usually live in the past and future.
Wonderful poem, Radhika🧡 It great to adore ‘Now’.

The present always has layers of past and future eclipsing it. We need to come out of that shadow.
Good to be alive to the now😊.

Wow, that was really well crafted Radhika!!! So true is the mind that pulls us into so many directions and the job at hand is always to navigate between them and bring us to the Now like you said. I love your choice of words in poem. Truly inspirational! ❤️

Taming the mind is quite a challenge Cindy. It is as slippery as an eel 😁. To get it to focus on the present is a huge achievement !!
Glad you found it inspiring. Thanks a lot. Have a wonderful day ❤️

Beautiful poem Radhika! Taming the flow of the mind is very challenging, as worries and memories drown it in its deluge, and try prevent it from living the past.
Mine almost perennially stays in the past times, and it is with lots of effort that I drag it back every now and then 🙂

Yes, it takes a huge effort to bring it to the present Deb. While I tend not to worry too much about the future, my mind loves to stay put between layers of the past. Still working on it 😊.
Have a relaxed Sunday Deb.

The journey of transcending is both mighty and taxing at the same moment. I love the resolve in last line, in the present moment.

Very relatable! I think many of us writers just love the past. 😏 I know that’s where a lot of my writing comes from.
