She…

She,

voices her opinion loud, against her dwarfed rights

turns deaf to societal charades, with a whispered sigh

gives wings to her crumpled dreams, to reach the pinnacle

fights a daily battle against unseen and unsaid rules

frees her imprisoned longings, with her head held high

adorns a resilient avatar, with her tenacious spirit

proudly wears her tiara, despite the many scars.

Her life is a collage of challenges, a different set each time.

She expertly sews the many patches of her life

into a beautiful quilt,

signed with the motifs of her victories!

All she only wants is,

freedom to celebrate herself, to be who she is!!

Happy Women’s Day to all the amazing women here!

  2. voices her opinion loud, against her dwarfed rights – I love the word choice here and in your entire poem. Your poem for Women’s Day reached me best, your heart speaks to my heart with it. This beautiful you and every woman we know, no matter what her journey looks like.

    All she only wants is,

freedom to celebrate herself, to be who she is!!
The conclusion gave me a happy smile – yess, simply wanting to feel the freedom to Be truly and celebrate this life.

    1. I am so happy that my words spoke to you Pragalbha. Yes finally, it is the freedom to be herself, without being cast in a mould is all that a woman wants. Wishing womankind all the happiness she deserves. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. ❤️
