The spotlight focuses on
an ensemble of ideas, incomplete tasks and memories,
that take center stage without an invite,
blaring their discordant voices.
With a conscious effort, I scat them away one by one,
much to my dismay, a multitude of others pop up.
The plethora of thoughts vying for attention
reverberates to a cacophonic din, unsettling my sanity.
I wish I had a CLOSE ALL tab in my brain
to shut down and restart it again!
Brains do not work like a device. IMHO, just replacing the old with new thoughts gives some relief.

Nice one, Radhika 👌
With the technological advancements, and dealing with their onslaught, we often feel, we ought to have the features of these machines,to handle our sanity, like you rightly brought out 😀

Absolutely Radhika. I wish too, to remove anger, irritation and whatnot. Like I say flushing the thoughts and switch it off.

Actually we have become so used to buttons isn’t it? Wish everything in life was as simple as turning the switch on and off…

This feels so familiar – exact feeling experienced at one time or another :)) It takes such presence to actually not be overwhelmed by it all or perhaps turn away completely and boldly.

Brilliant poem, Mam! There are many tabs our brains could use- refresh being one of them. So we’ll never get old 😀
Such an innovative poem as always, Mam.
