Succumbed…

geralt@pixabay.com

Fingers intertwined; we etched our hearts together “forever” in the sands of time, only to be washed away by the tides of time,

the glowing embers of passion have died down to ashen grey

fiery exchange of words have replaced the romantic nights of cozy candle light conversations

once ardent lovers, today our bond lies fragmented

accusations seem to be a favorite pastime now,

the rift widens, with overtures of reconciliation negated

peace buried beneath the tirades of anger and deluge of tears

war is at the doorstep. What do you expect me to do?

our relationship is yet another casualty in the emotional battlefield.

Will we take it to our grave?

While technology has helped mankind beyond imagination, it has also robbed us of our time. Have you noticed that despite most work getting done at the click of a button today, we hardly have any time for ourselves or our family, unlike earlier days?  The small mobile has replaced practically every aspect of our lives. We are prisoners within our “cell” phones. The level of servitude has risen to such alarming heights, that we’ll probably want our phones to be buried with us, in our graves too…. We had a peaceful past, are having a disconnected present and probably will have a grave future as technology invades into each living moment of our life!

Masquerade of Love!

Roses, candle light dinner, gifts and a romantic ambiance. A perfect picture to upload on social media. She was lost in the daze of the likes, comments and envy the valentine special picture would evoke from her online friends. She only hoped that the people would remain oblivious of the charade they were putting up to maintain their social status and fail to see the widening rift in their relationship.

The Fake Life!

She was a glamourous young actress at the peak of her career. She had name, fame and money.

Her plastic smile, her chiseled body, her empty followers on social media, the many trophies standing in her living room, all seemed so hollow to her.

Looking at herself in the mirror, a repulsive feeling engulfed her. There was nothing about her that was genuine. Her life was fabricated to project a picture of perfection.

She felt everything about her was a lie.

Disgusted with the fakeness of her persona, in the dark of the night, she disappeared without a word to anyone, in search of her true identity!

Everything about her was a lie….”

Inseparable Duo!

Tom And Jerry, Cartoon, Kids, Sketch, Fun, Retro, Old

Partners in crime, always at loggerheads

the inseparable duo, nibbling each other’s sanity,

the lazy hapless cat and the spry spunky mouse,

pulling up every trick under their sleeve,

the shenanigan makers, creating a riot,

Tom and Jerry regale us, with their clowning antics!

To Journey Within!

IC :google images

In life there comes a time, when there is a paradigm shift

the bucket is the same, only the list undergoes an overhaul.

From the materialistic, the focus shifts to the spiritual,

mind delves deeper, to find the meaning of life.

The soul wants to embark on a journey

to explore the realm of the cosmic plane.

Before the expected time of final destination arrives,

first on the list, is to awaken from the deep slumber of existing

in a rigmarole of societal pressure,

free oneself from the clutches of unending desires.

The goal now, is to travel inward,

listen to the silence, indulge in reflective conversations,

evolve to be an enlightened version of the self,

bask in the glory of the infinite light, to finally

experience the blessing and affluence of divine wealth.

Painting Poetry!

Girl, Window, Beauty, Hands, Dreamy, Flashback, Thinks

I sit by the window with a cup of coffee

 watching my thoughts meander.

In gay abandon, they drift like the wispy dandelions,

scattering fragments across the cascading beams of the morning rays,

across the wooded trail,

ruffling the russet autumn leaves into a gaily prance,

kissing the honeyed petals bright,

splashing around in the cool gurgling brook.

Infused with the scents of nature,

I collect my thoughts with tender love.

The white paper waits in anticipation

for the words from my quill

to paint a poetic portrait of verses.

Haibun – Sparkling Snowflakes!

My face peers through the window, I watch the misty horizon. A hazy sheen envelopes the panoramic whiteness of the landscape. The snow pirouettes with nimble balletic grace, like a crystalline diamond, oozing a glistening oomph, painting a sparkling lacey spectacle. They glow beneath the reflective light of the glass, basking under the mellow spotlight, before gently kissing the alabaster carpet, in a magical embrace.
