Sunshine Blogger Award

111

“The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who  inspire and bring sunshine into the lives of their readers and fellow bloggers.”

A big thank you to Elaine  for nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Elated that she considers my blog worthy of bringing sunshine to the readers 🙂 Do visit her blog for a for a wide array of reads  ranging from stories, paintings and some amazing write ups!!

Here are her questions:

Introduce yourself , in spite of blogging who are you by your profession.

A down to earth person, simplicity defines me. My mind is a gypsy vagabond which loves to travel and reflect on many things. I pen down thoughts close to my heart. That justifies the birth of the blogger in me.

A mother to two lovely kids, I keep myself creatively employed. I volunteer at a couple of NGOs.

I call myself BBC- Blogger, baker and chocolatier

If you weren’t in your current profession or if you could change your profession, which one would you like to opt?

I am currently happy with whatever I am doing. Designing, pursing creative artistry is something that I have a flair for. Any alternate profession for me, would be that of an Interior designer.

Where would dream to visit/ destination/country, or where would love to live?

Our world is has some of the most amazingly beautiful places. I have many places in India and abroad on my bucket list. Let’ see how many I can tick out of that.

If you have been told that its your last day on earth, what and how would you like to spend your day? What would you do?

“Live everyday as if it was your last day on earth.” If we followed this maxim, I guess the actual last day on earth would be great, without any anxiety.

If you get a chance to talk/see a person who is no longer in this world, whom would you like to meet?

Without doubt that person would be Mother Theresa. I would like to understand from her the source of her never ending fountain of love and compassion. Just yesterday I read an article about her, where the writer stated that a mere touch from her transferred so much of positive energy. Respect and regards all the way for the noble saint.

What are you most afraid of?  Or any nightmare which you feel could be real in your life?

Creepies n crawlies and claustrophobic places make me paranoid.

What motivates you to write each blog post?

Everyday things that I observe, an article that I read about, a picture that leaves an impression, challenges rolled out by the blogging community, the awards I am nominated for and the feedback of all my lovely fellow bloggers are some of the things that motivate and inspire me to write a post.

Do you support capital punishment?

I am against capital punishment.

Before you death, what will you be doing as your duty/step to save the earth?

I think doing something for mother earth should be a continuous effort. Planting saplings, saving its precious natural resources, keeping the environment around us clean are some of the things I do regularly.

Whom do you like the most in this world and whom you like the least?

My family means the world to me!

How you arrived to your blog name?

Like I said earlier, my blogs are a reflection of my thoughts n ideas. Hence the name seemed very apt for it.

My questions are:

  1. Tell me 3 things you remember about your kindergarten.
  2. What would you do if you were invisible for a day?
  3. Which according to you is the best post you have written so far. Attach a link to it.
  4. Have you actually kept up a new year resolution? If yes, what and for how long?
  5. If social media did not exist, how would your life be different?
  6. What cheers you up?
  7. What is the one thing that you did out of your comfort zone that you are really proud of?
  8. Which celebrity do you admire the most and why?
  9. What according to you is the most beautiful word in the world?
  10. What is your idea of heaven?
  11. Share 3 lessons, life has taught you.

And I nominate the following bloggers for the award

  1. Singdha
  2. Karthik
  3. Aditi
  4. Prashant
  5. Varsha
  6. Kiran
  7. Rekha

The Leibster Award

Thank you Shefali for nominating me for this award. Seems to be the season of awards. Do hop by Shefali’s blog. Like me, I’m sure you too will enjoy reading her posts.

As always, lets begin with the rules:

Nominate up to 11 other bloggers yourself (preferably those with fewer than 500 followers, this is more of a newbie award)
Provide those bloggers with 11 questions of your own for them to answer
Don’t forget to put the Liebster Award sticker on your blog!

liebsteraward-roses-tag

Shefali had come up with some interesting set of questions. So here they go…..

1) Do you believe in God and rebirth?

Though I am not a very religious person., I am a staunch believer in God and the cycle of Karma. God according to me is a power and energy who takes the form of our imagination and creation. Like a beacon of light, he guides us, lifts us up during the troubled times, unconditionally loves all his children and shows us beauty in all his creations. We all are playing our roles in the cycle of karma. Each soul, according to it’s deeds,  keeps taking birth to satiate it’s desire and experience certain events according to it’s karma.

2) If you could define yourself in one word, then what would it be?

Perfectionist.

I have always been a methodical, orderly and disciplined person. But somewhere down the line, I have learnt that being imperfect, quirky or having that slight streak of insanity is beautiful too. I am gradually trying to break out of my mould of perfection. 😉

3) What was your favourite cartoon character?

I grew up watching cartoons like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Chipmunks and Tom & Jerry. My favourite is undoubtedly Jerry of the series Tom & Jerry. He is so quick witted, and smart, making us laugh our heart out with his antics. I simply find him so adorable.:-)

4) Which is your dream destination that you want to visit?

Each part of the world is so beautiful, endowed with splendour unique to itself.  I would love to travel the world and carry the beautiful memories with me, for ever!

5) What is that one thing that you are sacred of?

The creepy and crawlies have always managed to scare the hell out of me. I have dedicated a post to this fear of mine. Click here to read it.I completely freeze when I spot them.

6) What is your favourite song?

Again, it is difficult to choose one favourite. Any music which is soaked in melody is what I enjoy the most. Hindi, English, Classical or any genre is fine. Music with melody relaxes and rejuvenates me.

7) What is your favourite moment?

“Now” is my favourite moment. This is something I have learnt from my husband. He always tells me “Don’t hold on to the past and don’t worry too much about the future. Enjoy your present”. That is what I am learning to do……….enjoying the “ now”!

8) What annoys you the most?

Hypocrisy, callous behaviour and littering, annoy me the most.

9) What motivates you to write?

Writing is something I enjoy.  Since my writing is mostly a reflection of my thoughts, anything that strikes a chord within me or a pain that I feel, finds an outlet through my pen. The genuine feedback of the readers too motivates me to write.

10) As far as traditions are concerned, what tradition do you think should continue for a long time?

With the passage of time, traditions change and should never be forced on people to follow. But if I had to choose one that should have continued, I feel it should be the joint family system.  Joint families always fostered love and camaraderie among the members. Helping out one another, bonding, managing the kitchen, all came naturally to them. With nuclear families now being the norm, man has become selfish and self-centered. Many kids grow up not understanding the values of sharing and accommodating, which reflect to a large extent in their adult life too.

11) Given the power to become a country or world leader, what are the first 3 things you would do?

The world we live in today is laden with problems and issues to be dealt with.

The top three issues that I would like to work on would be:

  1. Eradication of poverty and there by hunger.
  2. Saving our planet from the fangs of global warming and doing all it takes to preserve.
  3. Fostering a culture that brings focus on:
  •  positives, than the negatives,
  • love ,than on hatred,
  • growth, than on competition,
  • humanity, than on religion and
  • peace than on war.

I genuinely feel if our roots are strong, we will not be carried away by negative external stimuli and influence. Then we go on to build a better world with a healthy mind.

I enjoyed answering your questions Shefali !!

My set of questions are:

  1. If you were granted 3 wishes, what would you ask for?
  2. The one person who has had a strong influence on your personality……who and how?
  3. What is the best compliment you have received so far?
  4. Have you experienced/seen any miracle happen to you or your friend?
  5. Your funniest childhood memory.
  6. A movie which you enjoyed the most…..why?
  7. How do you want your family and friends to remember you?
  8. Describe your perfect day.
  9. If you could travel in time, would you go to the past or future? Why?
  10. If you could go on a dinner date with a celebrity, who would it be and what would you ask him/her?
  11. Name some positive qualities in yourself that you are proud of.

And my nominees are:

  1. Neha
  2. Prashant
  3. Rekha
  4. Shreyan
  5. Mona
  6. Kumar Harsh
  7. Aanchal
  8. Shambhavi
  9. Sayanti
  10. Mrudula
  11. Fairykumar

Black Cat Blue Sea Award

A very  Good Morning to you all !!

Have-a-happy-sunday

I was nominated for this award by Rekha of https://rrkamath.wordpress.com. Thanks dear for the nomination. Visit her site for some amazing reads.

Rules, Rules and Rules! Aren’t rules annoying at times? Well, since I am a law abiding blogger, I have to stick to the rules . So here they go:

  • Anybody nominated can nominate up to seven other bloggers.
  • Anybody nominated answers three questions. The questions you ask while nominating can be any three questions. If any of the questions asked are offending or simply do not want to be answered, the nominee does not have to answer them to earn the award.

Here are the questions that R popped  to me:

1. What is it that makes you unique and different from others? (It can be your hobby or any other interests.)

We all have read often that we are all unique, each different from the millions of people  who inhabit this planet. Isn’t that something  we all need to be proud of?

Sincerity with which I approach a task, trying to do it to the best of my ability, a penchant for being on time all the time 😉 ( much to the chagrin of my family), always willing to learn (even from my kids ), enjoying little joys of life, is what makes me unique.

2.  If you could stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?

Age, they say is just a number .Each age has got its own charm and responsibility. When we are kids we are in a hurry to grow up. Once we grow up we long to be kids again. So irrespective of our age, enjoy every moment of it. So no matter what your age is, it will always remain evergreen.

3. What was your first thought when you woke up this morning?

Every morning the alarm  nudges me out of deep slumber and jolts me out of my dreamy world into reality. The first thought on waking up is to recall the day. If it is a weekday, I recollect the schedules lined up for the day. But a  weekend or a holiday has its own lazy charm……. doesn’t it? I press the snooze button and enjoy those extra few minutes of sleep. So today being a Sunday it was snooze time 😉

I enjoyed answering your questions R.

My nominees are:

Mrudula

Karthik

Supreet

Kiranmayi

Charvi

And here are my questions:

  1. If your entire life was made into a movie, what would its genre and title be? Why?
  2. When was the last time you did something for the first time?
  3. If somebody gifted you enough money to last a lifetime, how would you spend your time? (Now that you no longer need to work) 😉

Thank you all for your feedback and encouragement. Keeps me motivated to come up with more.:-)

Blogger Recognition Award

I was nominated for this award by Kumar Harsh of https://caringraphy.wordpress.com. Thanks Kumar for the nomination. I like his style of writing…. sincere, lucid and expresses his thoughts very distinctively. I guess that’s why he connects so well with the readers. Do visit his blog. Best wishes Kumar for many more glorious writing moments !!

It always feels good to be conferred with an award :). But the greatest award for an amateur writer like me is, genuine feedback and encouragement from my readers. That’s exactly what keeps me motivated and helps me unleash my writing skills better. So fellow bloggers, would always appreciate your feedback on my posts.

Creating my own blog had been on my agenda in my “Bucket list” of things to do……..but somehow it did not take off for quite some time…….maybe I was just not so confident about myself doing it. I am blessed to have a loving family…….it’s only because of their constant encouragement that I decided to take the plunge. Now, I am glad that I did it, as I am  enjoying my swim with all of you, in the ocean of blogs. I thank my family for always being there for me, with all their love and support . ❤

I am just a novice in the blogosphere, so I don’t think I am the right person to give any advice to the new bloggers. I would just like to say that “ The beauty of a garden increases manifold only because of the diverse variety of flowers adorning it. Some are bright and colourful, some exquisite, some so delicate yet some others so fragrant. Similarly each of us have our own style of writing. Read, appreciate others work, learn and improvise. But let your writings be a reflection of you.”

Rules for participating in Blogger recognition award:

  1.  Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog
  2.  Write a post to show your award.
  3. Attach the award to the post.
  4. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  5. Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers.
  6. Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to.
  7. Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them & provide a link to the award post you created.

All you bloggers out there are so amazing. For this time I would like to nominate

  1. https://divyadeepakrao.com
  2. https://swamikosho.wordpress.com
  3. https://sanjaymbhaskar.wordpress.com
  4. https://aanchalwrites.wodpress.com
  5. https://sunnshhine.wordpress.com
  6.  https://ahomemakersworld.wordpress.com

Would be delighted if you accept the nomination. But there is absolutely no pressure for you to do it.  Your feed back and encouragement matter to me the most.

Happy Blogging 🙂
