Haiku – Hues of Nature!

Dave Hoefler@unsplash

3 haiku highlighting the colors of nature for Heeding Haiku With Chèvrefeuille, prompt: Color

1. The cool zephyr sings

beguiles dandelion wisps

azure euphony

2. Seasonal rambles

autumnal leaves gently swirl

vibrant potpourri

3. Lavender hues splash

eventide brings star’s farewell

benign radiance

Sanguine Spirit!

Vibrant confetti of leaves

ochre, brown and red

rustle an autumnal melody

twirl to the wispy breeze

revel under the harvest moon

spray a mist of spicy scents

delight the sensory emotions.

As Fall bids a final adieu

the fronds let go,

without any attachments

to their soul tree.

They sway in gay abandon

swirling and whirling in the finale,

before kissing the earthy bosom,

to be buried under winter’s white blanket.

Haibun – The Autumn Dance!

In response to Colleen’s weekly tanka challenge # 80, to use the synonyms only of the prompt words Soft & Gather.

I step out to witness a picturesque seasonal transition, one autumn morning. The porch is enveloped in a vibrant carpet of yellow and crimson leaves . The cool breeze caresses and whispers to them, sweet nothings. Coyly smiling, they sway under the cloudy sky, whispering secret messages, finally cascading to create a rustling harmony.

The mild autumn breeze

wafting warm cinnamon blends

celestial rhythms

the scarlet leaves congregate

choreograph balletic moves!

Haiku/Tanka – Autumn & Leaves

In response to Colleen’s weekly poetry challenge Autumn & Leaves. But this time there is a twist. We are allowed only to use the synonyms of the prompt words. I’ve written a haiku and tanka this time.

Haiku

The crisp gust of fall

drifts the  blades from a rustle

to a twirling dance

Tanka

Browns, reds and yellows

a carpet of vibrant fronds

scatter lazily

compose a lyrical theme

swaying to the fall rhythm.
