Catharsis!

I sit on the logged bench, watching the alabaster cascades, make a monstrous sound on its fall,

before flowing gently on the moss rimed stones, charting its own course.

I take courage to let go of my tears, from the cliff of my cheek, unabashedly down to the bottom of my soul, releasing the burden of the emotional upheaval.

My briny tears, cleanse my soul of all the hurt.

A constant companion, my faithful dog, a sole witness to my purgation, wags his happiness to see me move on, to face the challenge with renewed vigor.

A to Z Challenge – Nature and I

geralt@pixabay.com

Nature has always been a favorite muse of artists, writers and story tellers. There is something magical about the natural world that kindles the imagination and evokes evocative emotions in people. I am no different.

My head is filled with words all askew, as I struggle to put them on paper. The insipid letters weave a dull composition devoid of a soul. In search of inspiration, the open invitation of nature beckons me. I amble out on a leisurely walk, to infuse my pen with the scents and colors of nature, to paint a poetry of verses.

(I have attempted an acrostic haiku for POETRY)

Portrait of night inks

a luminescent mural

raven carousal

Orchestrating awe

a prismatic pageantry

vibrant potpourri

Enraged tempest brews

sculpts torrential emotions

stormy graffiti

Twilight tidings blend

a palette of colors splash

heavenly canvas

Reflective silence

a panoramic snowfall

white calligraphy

Yellow sunshine smiles

animated landscape spurs

inspired quill blossoms.

Beyond The Comfort Zone!

Refusing to nestle in her

soft and cushy environs,

she cleared the veil of doubts and anxiety.

The urge to explore the world,

make a mark, an identity,

pushed her to take the road less travelled.

Balancing the tussle between can and can’t,

she filled her heart with hope and promise

as she treaded on uncharted territories.

Not afraid to falter,

she let her dreams take shape,

for she knew beyond fear and failure

was the key to success!

Ideas and Thoughts!

pexels-photo-1919337

How do ideas or thoughts to write come to you? Do they come in……

Like a thunder out of the blue, in a flash

and keys type in, at lightning speed?

Like the burning desert sand, under the scorching sun

the thoughts , vent out ,seething ire?

Like the caress of the halcyon zephyr in the azure sky

the thoughts compose beautiful verses of love?

Like the serene waters in deep meditative trance

the words seek to find an answer, beyond cosmic realm?

Like the dull foreboding grey monotone sky

the writings spill out melancholic odes?

Like a long forgotten idea in hibernation

thawed by the warm sunshine, blossoming into a beautiful poetry?

Like the sultry moonlight between the glitterati of twinkling stars

igniting an ardent passion of words, culminating in a union?

Like the downpour from the heavenly skies, nurturing life,

your thoughts ink to inspire and motivate mankind?

How do thoughts and ideas to write, come to you? Do share.

In Sanskrit the term guru connotes someone who is a guide, or a master in a certain field of knowledge. Like a guidepost, he inspires his disciples, dispels darkness of ignorance, guiding them towards light. He helps discover the immense potentiality within themselves. Today, it is increasingly referred as seers who carry the message of truth for humanity.

A beacon of light

insight to divine wisdom

nourishes the soul

What inspires you?

The journey of life is all but smooth. Laden with obstacles, bitter relationships, unfavorable situations, many times life frustrates and hurts us. People, situations, health, environment and many other factors impede our progress ahead, testing our tenacity. In such a scenario we have two options. Either give in to it or bounce back resilient and strong, to continue on the path. Obviously the first option is not a great choice. So how does one exercise the second option?

Family and friend’s support means a lot in such situations. They provide a soothing balm on our bruises and help us heal and get over a problem.

But other than people, there are things which provide a cushioning, when blows strike hard on us or when we face a heart breaking situation. Be it books, music, prayers, travel, solitude, they all inspire and motivate us to persevere without giving up.

My ally or inspiration in such times has always been, drowning in some soulful music in solitude. The reflection, introspection and at times letting the tears just flow has always had a cathartic influence on me. With the cobwebs of my mind cleared, it aids in lucidity of coming to a rational decision.

So, today I would like to know, what and not who inspires you when the going gets tough?

Inspiring Personalities!

What is common among…….

  • Walt Disney, Harrison Ford, Ellen Degeneres, Martha Stewart, Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Being in the wrong profession earlier, they had the courage to listen to their heart and start afresh.

  • Mother Teresa, Hellen Keller, Florence Nightingale?

These are people who believed in the art of giving and helping the lesser privileged ones, with always a smile on their face.

  • Nick Vujicic, Deepa Malik, Stephen Hawking, Helen Keller?

Despite a physical challenge, they went onto prove that once you make up your mind, nothing is impossible.

  • K. Rowling, Amitabh Bachhan, Colonel Sanders, Michael Jordon?

In spite of multiple rejections these people refused to give up and went on to become world famous.

There are many living examples of people around us displaying admirable grit and courage, fighting against adversaries to emerge champions.

How often have you come close to giving up on your dreams, how often has rejection left you heart broken, how many decisions in life have you regretted not taken? We tend to blame our failures and eventually lose faith and give up.

But the above personalities refused to be bogged down by failures and challenges. They kept their faith and marched on, in spite of the obstacles, till they realised their dreams.

How are they different from us? No, they are just like you and me. The only thing that has helped them reach the pinnacle is that they never gave up. They have qualities of humility, courage, vision, never give up attitude and always a positive outlook as their mantra for life. No matter how bleak their path ahead looked, they refused to let go of these qualities. They consider failure as a stepping stone and bounce back resilient, after a setback. That is why they are an inspiration to the entire world!

Let’s look up to them and follow our passion earnestly. Who knows, one among us will inspire many others tomorrow !!
