An old sepia toned picture kindled wistful memories
of the bygone days.
I was the diva of rhythmic prowess,
tiptoeing my way on to the stage.
Full of nimble balletic grace,
pirouetting with poise, to the musical cadence.
I was crowned the
to a thunderous applause.
Today, my passion for dance has drifted into oblivion,
as I strive to prove myself in the rat race.
It sadly rests in peace
buried under the busyness of life,
in a dark corner of my soul!
Thank you Lillian for hosting Poetics at dVerse. This week’s prompt is to use one line from Dancing Queen , a composition by ABBA. I’ve used : Dancing Queen.
Triple haiku for Eugi’s weekly prompt – Happiness
Sound of music plays
happy feet waltz in rhythm
Soft tendrils unfurl
buoyant blossoms dance wildly
Gentle swirling snow
a sparkling graceful ballet
white wintry delights
The life’s song played dissonant chords
fragments of musical dreams scattered,
steps faltered, leaving hazy footprints
under the umbrage of smoky youthful frolic.
At the fag end of a frosty journey,
I reminisce on the missed opportunities,
rueful morose fills me,
tears of regret mist my eyes.
Finally, the lost music redeems my errant heart,
the strings of melody balms my broken soul,
ripples of repentance and acceptance mingle,
Today, I make peace with my past.
Sadje’s WDYS #84
Eugi’s weekly prompt : Mingle
Serenades of the universe resonated in harmony
the flora and fauna played in perfect cadence
sublime melody of peace wafted across
composing an ambiance of tranquility.
Entered man, stealing the conductor’s baton
altering the configuration of the arrangement
the reverberations goes askew
the din deafens the quietude of nature.
O divine mother, I ask for forgiveness,
I bow down to thee with reverence
help man tune his offbeat keys
to restore the rhythm of the cosmic orchestra.
In response to Sadje’s What do you see #37
The lock down cleanses the landscape
stay away humans balm the earth,
liberate it from their vile deeds,
as it breathes and rejuvenates
to a complete makeover.
Empyrean blues smile across the horizon
cumulus clouds indulge in careless whispers
the zephyr flirts with the virgin blooms
sounds of chirps serenade the world
sparkling brooks mirror a pristine image
boughs dance in gay abandon
the nadir glows a radiant gold, before
the night sky flaunts a starry spectacle
flora and fauna revel in its new found freedom
nature’s beatitude delights hearts!
Eugi’s weekly prompt: Dancing
खुशियों में दिल गीत के धुन गुनगुनाता है,
लेकिन ग़म में बोल, रूह को छू जाते है|
In happiness, man enjoys the melody of a song
but when he is sad, it is the lyrics that his soul feels.

heart broken in love!

The trill of the cicadas
gurgle of the brook,
buzz of the insects,
howl of the winds,
rustle of the leaves,
lashing of the rains,
roar of the thunder,
rumble of the waves,
chirp of the birds,
plop of the raindrop,
