Waiting at the threshold in anticipation,
as the final page of the calendar turns,
shadows of the year slowly fade,
to be blanketed under the duvet of the setting sun.
We reflect on the year gone by,
ready to usher in the new year.
As the midnight bells ring, we pray for,
A new beginning,
filled with hope and happiness
for a better tomorrow!

You applaud my triumphs, accept my failures
calm the ripples of my mind, lay my apprehensions to rest
show me the ray of light peeping in through the darkness.
You read me like a book, with a perfect understanding
of the layers of my emotion, edit a few false impressions I infer
help me fill in some blank spaces.
You bring sanity to my chaotic mind,
let me be, love me for who I am.

As the sun sets on 31st Dec 2016, another year bids us goodbye.
