The blank canvas!

In response to Sonya’s 3 line tale, week # 130

Mini loved her world of colours and could infuse life into any canvas with her brushes, much to the chagrin of her father, who wanted her to pursue sciences like him.

After a heated altercation with him in the morning, she came back from school, aghast to find all her paintings trampled and colors scattered all across the floor.

From then on, her life was just an insipid blank canvas, devoid of any colors or emotions.

That’s the problem for some students.

That is really sad! Art is something very special. Not everyone is so blessed to get that.

Oh, this breaks my heart..when the parent forces their will on kids. I’m always trying not to be like one of those. The more you give space and nurture your kid’s talent the more he will bloom.

Thank you for speaking out about this topic Radhika! How many must be going through life living with that black canvas. Very well written!

I feel very strongly against parents who do not allow children to pursue their interest of study. So I guess many of my posts reflect this Divya!

Painful. Despite all of our development, there are parents, who still believe and want their children to pursue simple and direct options in study, anything out of the box, is still looked upon.

Yes Moushumi. Inspite of all the advancement, parents
mindset remains conventional when it comes to choosing a professional course.

True words, so many people are forced into the more “prestigious” career options, their dreams clipped as mere children

Very true Sonali. In the process we have lost so many talented young minds nipped as buds thereby stopping them from blossoming.

Love that picture, it depicts the spirit of the story superbly. Art has its own allure and I am sure Mini would rediscover it as she grows up.

Beautiful response to a blank canvas and for sure she lost interest in anything but this surely happens with so many children in their childhood

Sad state of life for children to experience this and stare at a blank canvas throughout their life longing for colours…
