Once a humble abode, in the open expanse
Breathing easy, simple and steady.
With time my evolution progressed
Prosperity defined my makeover
Taking gigantic strides, standing tall,
I have now reached for the skies.
Labelled the pioneer and trendsetter,
All from my clan followed my path,
Now, surrounded and stifled all around
Alas, I once again long for the open expanse!!
Ic: google
Good to read, I have not fully understood though
I am sure it’s superior

This is my perspective of the the story of a building. Once it was a small dwelling under the open sky. Now the buildings have all reached for the sky that they themselves are feeling suffocated. And they long to be back as the humble abode.
I hope I have conveyed it well!!

Beautifully penned! Though the skyscrapers look great but nothing like open spaces and a simple house with front garden.

Thank you Shaloo. Except for a few bunglows we hardly see any independent dwelling in the city landscape. Unfortunately we are getting enveloped amidst a concrete jungle.

I have never lived in a flat and I am really grateful for having a small but independent house.

I am pretty sure that the builds actually want to be ‘a free abode’
Very well written.

Nice way of expressing the need for freshnes- Actually true in every sphere of life, Even though touching the skies, the buildings are crying for want of space around. Well penned Radhika.

Cities today and dotted with tall buildings. It is suffocating to live amid these concrete structures. Thanks Deepika !

Times change, trends change but hearts remain the same…yearning for open spaces! We have plenty of both here in California. 🙂

That’s wonderful. Very few places have been able to keep up the open spaces in tact. Unfortunately in India many such spaces have been gobbled up by tall structures.

The want of space, the need to breathe free, one that you need to go and enjoy in an expensive resort or a village that is still not under the GPS radar.
