Continuing the Valentine Special series, each day of the month, I will highlight a different facet of love in the form of a haiku. Hope you stay with me throughout this journey with all your support and love.
Possessiveness in a relationship is the strong need to hold on to the person only for himself or herself. Stemming from jealousy, selfishness and insecurity, a possessive person does not allow any kind of freedom to his/her partner in the relationship. This leads to constant distrust, threat and suffocation finally ends with break up or destruction in some cases.
Possessive embrace
intimidating control
claustrophobic net
This haiku brings out the reason why many relationships fail. Lovely Radhika

I have this kind of love on my friends, though I don’t confront about it to them. I get jealous and an unusual fear that they will leave me out

True friends never leave us. So I guess we should rise above our insecurities and give them the space to breathe. Surely then the relationship/ friendship blossoms. My two cents 🙂

Possessiveness dulls the love and the other partner feels suffocated and jump out of the relation somehow 🙂 May your poem allow possessive lovers to retrospect 🙂

I agree with you and at the same time devil’s advocate in me wants to disagree with this..why not a little bit of possessiveness in true love, it’s again very humane nature to be possessive and there are people who gets actually depressed if their partner never expresses this possessiveness upon them

Absolutely Akhila. As long as that possessive streak does not become a kind of obsession that the the other partner starts feeling suffocated in the relationship.
