Times have changed now.
I, the black insipid garbage bag lay
in the corner of the dingy utility
sloppy, with no body to care for me
I was a lonely soul, carrying the burden of
all the trash piling up on my shoulders,
unceremoniously, thrown into a huge dump.
But times have changed now.
The lock down has sure changed people.
Suddenly my mistress
seems to be interested in me.
She takes special care to dress up,
with matching accessories,
picks me up tenderly,
steps out to drop me
with a beautiful smile.
Ah….these are the best days of my life.
Times sure have changed now!!
A few days back got this image as an Whatsapp forward. Just penned down a different take on it. Hope you enjoy it 🙂
Stay safe!
Times change, perspectives change. Well put up 👍

Hahaha so cute and yes the garbage bag and cleanliness has taken an upper hand today. Even the BMC are coming and being hygienic in every ward by spraying disinfectants. Nice poem, Radhika.

Hahaha Radhika! Just a couple of days back I was talking to a friend who said her kids fight over who would take the garbage out as it means getting out of home! How times change perspective! Nice one. 👍🏼😄

I know…..I am sure earlier the same kids would have found excuses for not doing it.
Thanks Punam. 🙂

Hi Radhika,
Honestly Radhika, your blog would have brought out the typically toothless smile, and the naughty twinkle in the eyes of the great Mahatma Gandhi if he were to read it.
Apart from the humor, I see a depth of wisdom in your writing.

Exactly Deeksha. Earlier if my maid took off for 5-6 days at a stretch, I would be fuming. Now everything seems to have fallen into place without any problem.
