Through my eyes…

Corona and its impact grips the world

media spews fear in the minds of people

blowing things out of proportion.

Amidst all the negative pandemonium

they fail to highlight the rays of hope

emanating from kind souls

who reach out a helping hand,

infuse positive endurance.

I have realised, to see the world

through the people that surround me,

not through the blare of the breaking news.

  1. I love the message here and completely agree with you! Focusing on the positives is very tough and very important, especially in dark times. Thank you for writing this. I really like your take on this prompt.

  2. This is great. There’s a lot going on in the world bu the last thing we need to do is add to the confusion. Important thing to do right now to stay sane: “[…] to see the world, / through the people that surround me, / not through the blare of the breaking news.”

      1. It’s not much different in many places, I think. And I was watching a lot of it last few months, which I never really have, but I recently turned off all the news and I’m feeling much better and much more positive since then. You’re welcome.

  4. I couldn’t agree with you more, Radhika! These days there are more bad news than good. Besides, there’s so much good around us yet the media throws a stronger light on negativity around us.
