On a hot noon,
in the month of June,
I glanced on a purple crayon
as I gave out a lazy yawn.
Mom was busy with work,
so I didn’t want to be a jerk.
Looked for something to draw
the white wall was without a flaw.
I unleashed my artistic skills
which gave me a huge thrill.
As I stood back to admire my masterpiece,
Mom gave a loud shriek, breaking the peace!
I wondered, what did I do ???
In response to the daily Prompt : Purple.

A very cute and lovely poem , Radhika . The innocence of the child well portrayed . Loved the last line .☺

Thanks Sudalai. I am sure, a shriek would be the first reaction of most moms. The poor little one wondering, what went wrong?

Yes, Radhika , that was the cutest part . And I felt blessed remembering those days of my children’ s innocence . Thanks for the poem.

Hahaha so cute Radhika and mom went wild and took me to task. So darling that little boy is scribbling on a clean wall. Loved the poem so much.

Thanks Kamal. I guess I too did that to my kid when he was little. Looking back, I really feel bad about it!

Hahaha, nicely witten!! I’m blessed with a mom, who allowed me to unleash my artistic skills. Poor mom, she used to wipe it later with a wet sponge.

That’s wonderful to hear Aishwarya. Lucky you 😊😊
Would have probably done that now. But now my kids have crossed that age of scribbling on the walls!

Give the children chance to express their thoughts and use their gifts. Not only children, but everyone that we come in contact with.

Naughty and cute .But we cant let them present their talents on wall😎😎😅😅

Hmm…..Maybe we can designate one wall for them to satiate the artist in them.

Have you heard of the books “Harold and The Purple Crayon”? They go way back to when I was a kid? This reminded of them… 🙂

Haha cute poem Radhika! Did you have this experience with your kids?:)
My parents had a difficult time with my brothers and me, we were very eager to showcase our artwork on walls😂

Yes, they did it mostly with pencil though😊

Haha ! like and love your post, Radhika! This is a scene that is played at my home on a daily basis, just that the colors will not always be restricted to purple 😉

I think all the kids would have showcased the artistic skills on the wall. It could have been a pencil, crayon, paint or colour pencil 😀
