An ardent lover of nature, I believe nature is a treasure trove of beauty and joy. She dazzles our senses with the feelings of awe, wonder and amazement at her sheer beauty.

The confluence of the varied facets of nature’s immense artistry is there for all to see. The wafting clouds, winding rivulets, snow-capped mountains, green meadows, glorious horizon, starlit night sky, vibrant smiling flowers, all complement and complete nature. No concrete structure however magnificent it is, can match the alluring charm of nature. To me she is all encompassing epitome of beauty.

“If you truly love nature you will find beauty everywhere! “Vincent Van Gogh.

Today, I will focus the spotlight on the many roles that she dons.

Musician

The gurgling brooks, the roaring thunder, the dancing winds, the gentle rainfall, humming bees, chirping birds, the undulating waves , the cascading waterfalls, trill of the insects, all her musicians play their part to perfection in creating a scintillating symphony. Truly they play an ebullient orchestra!

Artist

An artist par excellence, she paints the horizon with a riot of colors depicting her mood.  Many painters have attempted to capture her glory on canvas. From the vermilion and tangerine streaks, to the diffused hues of purple across the azure horizon, the pristine white clouds to the tar grey, the lush greens to the ochre yellows, the calm emerald blue waters to the shimmering gold, the pristine snow clad splendor to the ember autumn glow, the grandeur of the majestic mountains to the ravishing valleys, she looks radiant in all her avatars!

Healer

The confused mind, broken heart and the bruised body, all find solace under her benevolent grace. She energises and rejuvenates the body and mind.  Her tranquil and serene persona infuses an eternal calm to the seeking soul. She indeed dons the role of a therapeutic healer with élan!

Scriptwriter

O la la….. Nature loves to play cupid in many love stories. She pens a perfect script and setting for a romantic evening under the silvery moonlight and the confetti of the twinkling stars. The raindrops, snowfall and the whispering cool caress of the breeze, all kindle the amorous souls to compose beautiful poetries of love and passion.

Nurturer

Ever providing and giving to one and all, creating a nurturing sanctuary for dwelling, she is a boon to mankind, a celebration of existence and an elixir of life!

What is nature to you?

When Sid heard of the magic phone which allowed one to speak to a dead person, he too joined the long queue of people, the only condition being, the phone rings when one touches it. Many tried in vain!

Sid picked up the ringing receiver with trembling hands.

“ Hello…..”

The Magic of a Touch

As the rays of the dawn touched life,

it welcomed me with open arms,

nurturing and loving me tenderly!

*

When harsh winds mauled me down,

It pulled me up from the chasm,

showed me the light at the end of the tunnel!

*

The loving embrace of your arms,

ignited in me a passion for life,

creating beautiful memories!

*

As dusk cast its shadow on life,

and the birds flew away,

it infused me with comfort and solace ,

till sleep blanketed me.

*

That is the magic of a “Touch”

It speaks no language,

but yet, is all embracing,

conveying it all with a mere touch!

Moon Magic

o-full-moon-570

As a kid, sitting at the back seat of the car and peering out of the window amused me. I remember, looking at the moon who had cute face, like that of a bunny rabbit. Often I felt that it was trying to tell me a different story every time I saw it. Sometimes it seemed to be burdened by grief, while at times it was full of mischief but most times it had a happy face. Oh, I was sure it loved me so much, that it kept following my car. So much for the innocence of a child 🙂 🙂 !!

The moon captivated so many young children with its fascinating tales. It enticed them with fairies and goblins, mythological narratives, adventure and drama. Mothers sang soothing lullaby’s to children to cajole them to slumber, under the benign glance of the moonlight. The children wondered in awe at its ability to change shape. Some questions always intrigued the kids. How did it manage to go on a strict diet and shrink and at the turn of a magic wand, suddenly start to put on weight and get back to its original shape? They loved it when it played peek a boo with the clouds. But why did it do a disappearing act once a month? These questions were always on the children’s mind, till they grew a little older and understood the phenomenon.

The mystical moon has always been a photographer’s delight. Just like a beautiful damsel, it sure does know which face to put forward for the shutterbugs. Be it the bold and the beautiful or a coy and blushing bride, it can dress up in myriad hues and avatars. It loves to flirt across the dark expansive sky, fleetingly kissing the clouds on its path.  It enchants a poet’s pen and an artist’s brush to create a master piece depicting its eternal beauty.

The silver halo of the moonlight conjures up romance between the loving hearts. From its celestial abode it casts a luminous shadow to pique the lover’s passion. Inspired by its pearlescent demeanour, romantic verses flow from the beloved’s heart. The beau likens the beauty of his sweetheart’s face to the ageless and radiant beauty of the moon. The misty and mellow moonlight, is a witness to the embrace and sublime union of the souls in love.

It arrives into the heavenly canvas

spreading its soft silver rays

to light up the dark alleys, guiding lost souls

gently cradling them to a world of dreams.

Many a tale it narrates on its journey

of love, beauty and betrayal.

Its mystic charm has many fans

who dedicate numerous odes in its praise.

The moon and its magic are always special!
