In response to Eugenia’s BrewNSpew Cafe prompt : Supernatural
Clad in a shadowed white
she walked through the closed door
for a midnight sojourn.
Her eerie silence echoed
jolting me abruptly from my slumber.
Sweat trickled down my brow
awakening me to a chilling fear
weird shrills pierced the dark hollow of the night
the nocturnal silhouette gifted me a red rose
numbing my senses in a haunting web.
The next morning,
I rubbished the incident
as a nightmarish hallucination,
but as I turned over
there lay a red rose next to me!
In response to Kat’s twittering tale # 107, to write a tale in 280 characters or less on the pictures given below.
Amy decided to take the spookiness level of her Halloween party a notch higher. The haunted house in the woods with ravens clucking around, the crinkled pumpkins added to the eeriness. But, the hands creeping around the trees was not a part of the theme….now fear gripped her!
Letter count : 279
Grey clouds cast a net around the woods
dusk descends with a misty cloak
silhouettes of the trees pervades over the moon
menacing winds augur an eerie tone
birds flee ,sensing an unearthly warning
howls of the wild beasts echo
darkness manifests with an evil spew
ghostly shadows rasp in savage squeals
the sinister red eyed monster haunts
with fangs and claws waiting to strike.
The eyes shut tight in fright,
droplets of sweat trickle down,
the heart thuds wildly,
cold chills run down the spine
besieged by paralyzing terror,
with a piercing scream I run out.
A horror movie is not my pick!

Road|Sign|Shift|Clue|Captive
Lost in the wilderness
with no clue ,where to head
tar grey clouds brood over
damp forest floor, exudes an acrid stench
branches draw monstrous silhouettes
menacing winds croon a forbidding song
ravenous howls grow louder
a sign of looming danger
eyes move furtively in the dark
failing to find a road to escape
the probing hand feels a slimy creature
sending shivers down the spine
the screams for help, echo back
the soul held captive by fear
drenched in sweat, completely paralyzed.

Smiling, with a thumbs up,
