C – Colors and Contrasts!

A to Z Challenge 2022 – Nature and I

Nature’s moods define irised emotions, as she chooses from an ever-changing palette of shades and textures. Her aesthetic artistry beholds the eyes, with enchanting rapture. She exhibits a wide array of colors and contrasts.

Dreamy dawn’s diffused crimson, to dusk’s bold streaks of lavender and amethyst

azure blue expanse in conversation with white billowy nimbus

broody overcast sky burdened with dark charcoal clouds

dry arid earthy brown to the lush green forest canopy

serene aqua waters subdued by the tempestuous grey ire of the undulating waves

spirited tones of spring to monochrome of winter

lambent twinkling stars gleaming in the bosom of the velvety black yonder

the slumberous water shimmering under the glowing silver radiance of the moonlight

From vibrant to muted tints, nature encompasses a motley of chromatic hues in her persona. Seasonal changes, alter her composition and colors, yet their confluence paints a captivating mural of the landscape. She is in complete harmony in all her avatars.

Shouldn’t the same be true for us as well? We are all of different skin tones, belonging to distinct cultures, having varied personalities. So why is it that we engage in discrimination against fellow beings? Isn’t it time for us to practice universal brotherhood as one mankind?

Different strokes and colors

cohabit under the infinite sky

one red flows through our bodies,

each breath and heartbeat resonating

 a similar emotional tinge.

They bask under the sole yellow sunshine

glow under the radiance of the same moonlight.

Sounds of laughter and the tears of pain, are alike

hunger pangs and prayers are of identical hue.

When mankind is of one color,

then why the differences?

The Question Remains…

Lock Down, Lock, Year, Nostalgia, Era, Door, Metal

Lock down changed life forever

redefined many facets.

We tasted virtual reality bites

embraced a minimalistic approach,

nature rejuvenated, when we were caged.

Emotions came about in a mixed bag.

Familial bonds recharged with great vigor

skills honed, connections renewed.

Some had to endure the pangs of separation,

mental health issues rocked a few.

The health workers are true warriors

fighting an enemy unknown.

The harsh plight of migrant workers

brought to fore, many kind souls amongst us,

 reaching out with helping hands,

the blessed, bowed down in gracious thanksgiving.

Now all masked up, as we unlock our cages,

this question continues to torment me…

Will man emerge wiser from the pandemic?

will we respect this freedom now

or

will we go back to our old ways?

Happy Diwali!

This Diwali, lets make a difference!

Lets clear the obscurity that shrouds the mind

infuse it with a scent of gratitude.

Let the joyous mirth transcend

to light up our hearts with a luminous aura.

It’s time we pledge to stay away from crackers

but ensure to burst our inflated ego,

filing it with a liberal dose of humility.

Lets ignite the lamp of our soul

to be a beacon of light, in the darkness

emitting rays of hope shining bright.

Lets make this Diwali a special one,

upholding the spirit of the festival

with the triumph of good over evil.

Let the sparkle from the illuminations

brighten humanity with warm vibes.

This Diwali lets make a difference!!

A very Happy Diwali to all my blogger friends!

Day 8 – Love for Mankind!

It’s been a week since I have been posting under the series of Valentine Special. Hope you are enjoying it and will continue with your support and love through the month long journey.

What do Mother Teresa, Florence Nightingale , Audery Hepburn have in common? They are people with a loving heart who treated mankind with love and worked selflessly to lift up the lesser fortunate ones with their overflowing love and service. It is very rare to come across great souls like them who dedicated their life for charity with love and care. Respects and salute to such noble men and women.

“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love” Mother Teresa. Lets all endeavor to follow this principle in our own way, to make this world a better place to live.

Love beyond boundaries

service to humanity

imprints in the heart.

Mankind!

Different strokes and colours

different cuisines and cultures

different religions and habits

different dresses and languages.

Yet people across the world

under the infinite sky,

feel the same emotions,

bask in the same sunshine,

share the same dreams,

experience the same love,

revel in the same moonlight,

sense the same fears,

shed the same tears,

enjoy the same laughter,

endure the same pain,

suffer the same hunger pangs,

join the same hands in prayer.

Mankind, bound by the heart

yet divided by boundaries!

War!

Another in the series of A to Z poems, where the words move alphabetically.  You can read the earlier one here. I have used “ex” for the letter x.  Could not think of an appropriate word beginning with it. If any of you can think of one, please share 🙂

war

Across boundaries conflicts descend

ember flames glow,

horrid incidents, jolts kids

lurid massacres numb peace,

quells rational solution

tension usurps violence,

war exhausts

yowl zillions!
